65 years ago, Chen Zutao and other older entrepreneurs made arduous efforts to establish China's first automobile plant design department. The predecessors accumulated in learning and created in exploring, and gradually formed the technology and management system with the characteristics of the Ninth Institute, and developed the plant design department into a fully specialized and the only automotive plant design institute in the machinery industry.
Along with the reform and opening up of the national economic construction, the Ninth Institute has gradually stepped into the tide of market economy from the government-appointed industry planning and design undertaking in the planned economy era, and we have stood firm and moved forward steadily after experiencing the constant baptism of market competition! At the beginning of the new century, the Ninth Institute changed from a cost center to a wholly-owned subsidiary of FAW Group, and we seized the opportunity of the development of the automobile industry, and rapidly developed the business structure to project management and general contracting, and continued to enlarge the scale of operation and further enhance the status of the industry, and for many years, we entered into the ranks of the "Top 100" in national project management and general contracting, achieved new leapfrog development. In recent years, Ninth Institute has followed the trend of the times and sought for high-quality development, successfully restructured in 2020, and carried out shareholding reform in 2021, and is now in the process of IPO, with continuous innovation in system and mechanism, which greatly stimulates and releases the power and vitality of development.
Looking back on 65 years of spring and autumn, the construction results of more than 6500 engineering consulting, design and contracting projects of Ninth Institute have spread to the north and south of our motherland and more than 10 countries and regions, and 288 projects have won the national and provincial awards, and the self-developed new technologies such as pendulum bar, digitalized process planning, dry spraying paint booth, straight-through drying oven, wax filling line, VOCS control device and automated assembly system for chassis, etc. have been successfully applied in engineering projects. The Ninth Institute is challenging the high-end technology in various specialized fields! After 65 years of hard work and struggle, the Ninth Institute has created brilliant achievements, accumulated a strong culture, and formed its own professional characteristics and business advantages.
