The Groundbreaking Ceremony for Changan Automobile's Thailand Project held grandly
On November 8th, the Changan Automobile Thailand project, contracted by MMI, held a grand groundbreaking ceremony at the Weihua Industrial Park in Rayong Province, Thailand. Mr. Wang Hui, Vice President of Chang'an Automobile, and relevant leaders and project members, leaders of relevant departments of the Thai government and industrial parks, the relevant leaders and project team of China Energy Construction Thailand Company, as well as the general manager Liu Shixin, deputy general manager Yang Yumin, assistant general manager Shi Fu, and the main person in charge of the project team, jointly attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
This project is Chang'an Automobile’s the first overseas production base and another EPC general contracting project undertaken by MMI in Southeast Asia market. The project is located in the fourth district of WHA Weihua East Coast Industrial Zone, Putang District, Rayong Province, Thailand, with a construction land area of over 390,000 square meters and a building area of nearly 150,000 square meters. The project covers geological exploration, engineering design, civil and utility works, as well as welding production line equipment, painting production line, final assembly line and other process equipment. The first phase of the project has a design capacity of 100,000 vehicles/year and is scheduled to be put into operation in early 2025, while the second phase will have a total capacity of 200,000 vehicles/year after it is put into operation.
The official groundbreaking of the manufacturing base in Thailand marks another upgrade of the cooperation between MMI and Changan Automobile.
